It’s all about community

Without those who support us we could not do what we do. They have helped Food For Love in many ways, from in kind donations, facilities and financial contributions. We are grateful for their ongoing commitment. But don’t just take our word for it, read on to find out what they have to say about being part of Food For Love.

Community Networks Wānaka

Community Networks/Link is a one-stop community support and connection center based in Wānaka. We work closely with Food for Love as they provide home cooked meals to those in need in the community. The Meals for the Elderly clients and to the food bank.

Upper Clutha Rugby Club

The Upper Clutha Rugby Football Club are proud to be part of the Upper Clutha Community. Over the years we have helped by providing our facilities for use by community groups. We see this as an important way to contribute to the community (as the community have contributed to us). Recently this has been with Food For Love who are a fantastic charity helping nourish those who are often facing some of the hardest of times.

We are proud to support this worthy organisation.

Amigos

I write this in support of Food For Love, as devised and driven by Rebecca Sarginson. As a company Amigos have always striven to find and empower community minded organisations who are providing a service that would otherwise be lacking, and whose absence would leave a palpable need in our area. The demand for the services FFL provides is testament to that need.

The army of cooks and delivery drivers speaks to the effectiveness of Rebecca’s organisational abilities, along with the numerous local businesses that are behind her, amongst whom we count ourselves as enthusiastic members.

Florences Foodstore & Cafe

I am the owner of a local cafe in Wānaka and a great supporter of the charity, Food for Love. This charity caters to lighten the load for families who are grieving, who have lost jobs, are unwell – physically and mentally – and even for those who have accidents and cannot return to their homes. I hope for Food for Love to continue the work they do, in not only feeding folk, but helping to keep their spirits up, during times that are not anticipated. It is efficient, productive and most necessary in our community.

Dripping Bowl Wānaka

I can’t even express how much I believe in Food For Love and all that they do for our community down here in Wanaka. I have personally been volunteering for them for 3+ years now and the joy I get from cooking and delivering meals to those in need brings such joy to my heart. When I opened my cafe 1.5 years ago, I also bought into a food truck that sold soup so we decided to create fundraising for Food For Love by giving away free soup and renting out bowls so it was 100% waste free and all donations went directly to Bex and the team. We raised over $400 and had such a blast spreading the word about everything great they do plus helping them provide more resources with a little more cash in their bank account. If you have any questions or want to hear stories about people who have been touched by this charity, they are endless.  Don’t hesitate to call.

New World Three Parks

The Wānaka and surrounding community is incredibly fortunate to have the support and generosity of these Food for Love volunteers who are taking care of families and individuals who are going through many challenging life events. The loss of revenue in Wānaka and surrounding areas due to COVID-19 and the lack of tourism to our community has contributed to growing financial pressures on local families and individuals that need support for Food for Love on a temporary or weekly basis, either requiring home cooked meals or providing fresh food for children’s lunches. It was through these challenging times we realised just how important such an organisation is needed for our region and why we committed to help fund Food for Love on a regular basis.
